Privacy policy · pre-launch draft

Your application is personal. Our data practices should be clear.

This draft explains the data Vantage is designed to use, why it is used, and the controls we intend to provide before public launch. It will be reviewed and finalized with counsel before paid access opens.

What we collect

Account and contact details
Email address, account ID, authentication/session information, and—if you choose it—Google sign-in details.
Student profile
Academic history, test scores, graduation year, high school, interests, activities, awards, recommenders, school preferences, and application plans.
Potentially sensitive profile details
Information a student elects to provide such as race/ethnicity, first-generation status, financial-aid need, household-income band, and personal free-text context.
Student-created work
Essay drafts, brainstorming, notes, tasks, deadlines, school lists, and messages sent to the coach.
Service and security data
Product actions needed to operate the service, limited logs, error/security information, and AI request/usage metadata.
Parent connections
A parent account link and permission settings. Parent views are designed for progress and deadlines, not a student’s essay content.

Why we use it

  • To create and secure an account, deliver the product, and keep a student’s schools, work, and deadlines connected.
  • To provide requested AI coaching and personalize guidance around the student’s own stated context.
  • To send requested account, security, and task-related communications.
  • To prevent abuse, troubleshoot, comply with law, and protect the service and its users.

AI processing

When a student asks Vantage for AI coaching, the relevant draft, question, and context may be sent to our AI provider so it can produce that response. Vantage is designed as a coach—not a ghostwriter or admissions decision-maker. A student should review all feedback and remain responsible for what they submit.

Service providers

Supabase
Authentication and application database infrastructure.
Anthropic
AI processing for coaching features when enabled by the student.
Resend
Transactional task and account email delivery when enabled.

Tracking and analytics

Vantage does not currently include a third-party web analytics SDK, advertising pixel, session-replay tool, or targeted-advertising tracker. Essential authentication/session cookies may be used to keep a signed-in user secure. If this changes, this policy and the cookie notice will be updated before the new technology is activated.

Choices and rights

Before public launch, Vantage will provide a workable way to request access, correction, export, or deletion of applicable personal information. Until those in-product controls are live, contact us at hello@meetvantage.app. We will publish the governing jurisdiction-specific rights process and a retention schedule before paid launch.

Age and safety

The initial consumer service is intended for people age 13 and older. We do not intend to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A school or district version of Vantage, if offered later, will have its own education-privacy and contract review.

Changes and contact

We will post material changes here before they take effect. Questions about this draft or Vantage’s data practices can be sent to hello@meetvantage.app.
